Tottenham Labour MP David Lammy spent the morning visiting a local school that has been honoured for its excellent achievement recently.
Seven Sisters Primary School was rated as “good and improving” by the Ofsted report for its high teaching standards, strong leadership and high achieving
students. The school also has shown its role in the community as a support system to parents and children who are having difficulties.
Mr Lammy heard plans for the new children’s centre at the school, sat in on an innovative French class, and toured the school’s new technology equipment and labs. The
school holds a special place for him, as it was the first school he visited upon being elected MP seven years ago. Head teacher Denise Patrick also joined the school at this time.
“The last seven years have seen many changes in Tottenham, none more so than at Seven Sisters Primary. I am pleased that with this latest report, the staff and
students are finally getting the recognition they so richly deserve,” said Mr Lammy.
He ended his visit with a brief question and answer session with the school council and invited them to his office in the House of Commons to see what a day as an MP is really
like.
