MP urges action against social clubs

David Lammy MP MP for Tottenham David Lammy has spoken out against the high number of social clubs along West Green Road that fuel anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhood.

David is working to reduce crime in the area and is working with the police and Haringey Council. He urges for “a wider vision” to be set for West Green Road.

Last Month Mr Lammy called a meeting with the Tottenham Traders’ Association and Haringey Council and wants the traders’ wishes to be put on the council’s agenda. The council has pledged to work with the traders to establish a shared vision in the following weeks.

“Both West Green Road and Philip Lane are important arteries through Tottenham,” said Mr Lammy. “By listening to local people’s concerns and working in partnership with the council there is a chance for a better and safer future in Tottenham.”
